Rooftops
In Georgian times this lovely large first floor room, would have been the ‘withdrawing’ room for the Master of the house and his business associates and friends. When the house was built between 1788 and 1790 the room would have had a clear view across the fields to the sea – sadly no longer – but modern-day occupants can enjoy the attractive view over Whitby’s rooftops instead. The room can be arranged with twin beds or with one superking (six feet wide) bed. Decorated in a sophisticated deep green the room is both deeply comfortable and relaxing: an armchair provides a perfect corner for reading, and there’s a flat screen TV, silent mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and some home baked treats too.
