About us

Your ticket to relaxation

If you are looking for stylish accommodation with just a touch of luxury then Number 6, a Georgian town house, on St Hilda’s Terrace, right in the centre of Whitby, could be the perfect place for you to explore and enjoy everything the town and the area have to offer.   . We are Gill and Jackson; we bought the house in July 2017 and, in between then and our opening in July 2019, we have poured love, money and litres and litres of Farrow & Ball paint into its restoration. We aimed to be sympathetic to its history and set out to achieve restoration with a contemporary twist. We love the results and we think you will too. (There’s more on the history of the house on our guest information page.)

We’re just a two-minute walk to pubs, cafes, restaurants and quirky shops, and less than a ten-minute stroll to the beach. For keener walkers the Cleveland Way, and a host of other paths, are on the doorstep too.  And, at the end of your day, our rooms offer all you need for a relaxed break.

We’ve local maps and guidebooks to help you plan your stay and are happy to recommend our favourite places to walk, shop, eat and drink.

Our three rooms are all stylish and contemporary, designed for your comfort and convenience.  All of our rooms are for a maximum of two adults; we only cater for over 18s.

We serve a leisurely breakfast between 8.00am and 9.45am (earlier by arrangement); all cooked to your order and using local produce where we can.

We have a very friendly house cat, Bella, and regret that we cannot accept any other pets at all – not even the best-behaved ones.

Please be sure to check out our guest information page – it includes essential info like parking in Whitby and accessibility.
